Let Me Tell You that I'm Proud

You have glanced at me in criticism
Wondering what has caused me wearing what I wear
However weird it is to you
Let me tell you than I’m proud

Have you not said before
That diin is not about garment
But about what’s in the heart
And the belief one holds on to

But what is such belief, do tell me
When it is clearly stated about the hijaab
You turn away and ignore it
As if it’s never been said and written?

You look down on my covering
Thinking that it is a sign of fanaticism
A covering of weakness
But allow me to say that I’m proud

You give yourself up to people’s admiration
Thinking that you are a free soul
But alas, you in fact are in chain
Allow people to choose for you

I may not be pretty
Or even looked gloomy to your taste
But I’m happy of choosing what I’ve chosen
So let me tell you that I’m proud

Look for Your Heart in Three Places

Look for your heart in three places: when listening to the Qur’an,
When sitting in the gathering of knowledge
and when in privacy. If you cannot find it in these places, then ask Allah to bless you with a heart, for indeed you have no heart.”

Taken from the work of Ibnu Qayyim al-Jauziyyah - may Allah have mercy on him

Antara Ilmu dan Harta

menyebabkan kematian banyak manusia
